One of the journalists from Latina, the official Peruvian channel that broadcasts the sports event, attended the meeting and did not hesitate to approach Lionel Scaloni, the coach of Argentina, to give him a very special 'amulet' for the debut of the Argentine team in Qatar 2022.
As seen in the images shared by Latina, Peruvian journalist Paul Pérez approached the coach and gave him a Peruvian chullo, a garment that is usually knitted with alpaca wool.
"As a symbol of good luck, we give it to you on behalf of all Peru. Hopefully, you have a great World Cup and hopefully, Argentina becomes the champion," the Peruvian told the coach.
Lionel Scaloni's reaction has been celebrated by thousands of Peruvian fans, since the coach not only appreciated the gesture but also stayed for a while to listen to their words and affirmed that they are confident in Argentina's victory with Messi.
