The midfielder Nicolás González was substituted in the list of 26 players called up by Argentina for the 2022 World Cup, being replaced by Ángel Correa, reported the Argentine Football Association (AFA) on Thursday.
"After today's training session, the football player Nicolás González suffered a muscular injury and will be removed from the World Cup squad. In his place, the coaching staff of Argentina calls Ángel Correa," wrote the AFA on the official Twitter account of the national team.

The name of Nicolás González, from the Italian Fiorentina, had entered in the last hours in the speculation roulette of the press due to the muscular problems he had, after the coach Lionel Scaloni warned on Wednesday, after winning 5-0 in a friendly match in the United Arab Emirates, that "there are players who are not one hundred percent" and that there was the "possibility" of making changes in the list.
The qualified teams for the World Cup can modify their list of 26 called up players until one day before their debut in the tournament, which in the case of Argentina will be on Tuesday, November 22 against Saudi Arabia.
