Before the start of the 2022 Qatar World Cup, a documentary about the Argentine national team and their journey, led by their captain Lionel Messi, to the championship of the 2021 Copa America was released on Netflix.
"Through interviews with players, coaching staff, and legends of world football, with exclusive footage, it provides an unprecedented look at the victory that ended a 28-year title drought and seven lost finals," reads the trailer description.
Among the statements are those of Messi, 'Kun' Aguero, Rodrigo de Paul, Angel Di Maria, Leandro Paredes, and other players of the Albiceleste, along with Lionel Scaloni. Former teammates of the 'Flea' such as Xavi Hernandez, Ronaldinho, Luis Suarez, Cesc Fabregas, Sergio Busquets, and Dani Alves are also featured. However, there is some previously unknown information revealed by the Argentine newspaper Ole.

Antonella and the plan for Messi to record in peace
The interview with 'Leo' was conducted at his home in France. The '10' spoke for two hours; however, to achieve this, peace and quiet had to be maintained in his house, which was difficult with three children. So, Antonella Rocuzzo organized a day out with their children so they would not be at home and everything could be filmed properly.
Lionel Messi had to record in his closet
Recording Messi's voiceover was quite challenging as a place of absolute silence for the voiceover couldn't be found. The media reports that, when they were about to give up on those recordings, the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner had the idea to go into the closet. It was there that 'Lio' and three other members of the production went in to do the work.

Angel Di Maria and his young fans
When the production team was at 'Fideo's' house, they were surprised by a peculiar scene when some children knocked on the footballer's door. There is a youth school nearby, with children aged 12 to 13, with whom he has some kind of agreement for them to come and take photos or have their jerseys signed every afternoon.
The difficulty of the interviews
According to Ole, some interviews required a lot of time to coordinate a date. One of them was with Ronaldinho, who wanted to participate when he learned that Messi was the main character of the documentary. After several back-and-forths, the former '10' of the Brazilian national team met to record in a hotel in Paris.
The barbecue that served as an excuse to record
The winning players of the Copa America agreed to have a barbecue at Rodrigo De Paul's house together with Lo Celso and Angel Correa. In a homely and friendly atmosphere, each took turns for their respective interviews.
