The presence of Giovani Lo Celso at the 2022 World Cup is not secure at this point in the year. The midfielder suffered an injury in the recent Villarreal match, and because of that situation, alarms are going off in the Argentina national team. Regarding the issue, coach Lionel Scaloni spoke out.
“These are things that could happen, and we are assessing the situation, both of him and other players. Unfortunately, it could happen. There are many matches. Especially the month of October is quite busy, and we hope for news to see what decision we make,” the coach commented this Wednesday on ESPN, upon his arrival in Argentina.

As Scaloni emphasized, he will not take any unnecessary risks with the player. “The first thing I told him and I tell everyone is that the player's health comes first. We will not take any risks that are not normal risks. Anything that involves taking an unnecessary risk, especially for the player's health, I will not do it,” he pointed out.
"I TOLD LO CELSO THAT HEALTH COMES FIRST", Lionel Scaloni told, in an interview with #SportsCenter, that he talked to Gio and affirmed that "he will not take risks."
