Marcos Rojo experienced one of the toughest days of his professional career this Wednesday. As if missing a penalty wasn't hard enough, the Boca Juniors defender suffered an injury against Sarmiento and left the field in tears, in an emotional image.
Seconds after missing his shot, which could have meant a 1-0 lead for 'Xeneize' in the 25th minute of the first half, Rojo tried to compete for the ball with an opponent and injured his right knee in that effort. The signs of pain were evident.
The left center-back received medical attention, but he was not physically fit to continue. Coach Hugo Ibarra decided to replace Rojo - who left the Eva Perón Stadium in Junín in tears - and the player who came in was Facundo Roncaglia.

Boca vs. Sarmiento: Match preview
Boca Juniors, the current leader of the 2022 Argentine Professional League, will visit Sarmiento in the city of Junín for the highlighted match of matchday 25, without being able to neglect the siege of their pursuers Racing and Atlético Tucumán.
Boca (45 points) jumped to the top by defeating the sinking Aldosivi 2-1 and taking advantage of Atlético Tucumán (44) and Racing (44) losing their matches by 2-0. These results left the title fight wide open, with three candidates separated by just two points with three matchdays remaining in the championship.
However, Boca still has the pending match against Gimnasia y Esgrima (40) that was suspended last Thursday when only 9 minutes had been played. This was due to a violent police repression that threw tear gas outside the Juan Zerrillo stadium, which invaded the field and the stands. The incident resulted in a fatality due to cardiorespiratory arrest.
