What a pride! Peruvian sailing team won gold medals at the 2022 South American Games.

They keep adding joys for our country at the 2022 South American Games! Four medals for the Peruvian sailing team. Jean Paul de Trazegnies, Stefano Peschiera, and María Belen Bazo obtained gold medals in each of their specialties, while Caterina Romero obtained the silver medal.

María Belén Bazo became the South American champion after finishing first in the five races. The Peruvian athlete rises to the top of the podium in the IQFOIL 95 Women's sailing modality, surpassing Brazilian Giovanna Prada, Argentine Chiara Ferretti, and Venezuelan Carenys Salazar Gonzalez.

The second female representative who stood out was Caterina Romero, who won the silver medal in the Women's Sunfish final, only surpassed by Chilean Constanza Paz. In the men's selection, Jean Paul de Trazegnies and Stefano Peschiera stood out, winning the gold medals at the 2022 ODESUR Games.

Jean Paul de Trazegnies, the sailor of the sailing team, won the gold medal in the Men's Sunfish modality after eight races. The Peruvian surpassed Colombian Simon Gomez Ortiz, Argentine Martin Alsogara, Venezuelan Rafael Chirinos, Chilean Ricardo Seguel, and Brazilian Marcondes de Mattos.

In the ILCA 7 one-person boat modality, Stefano Peschiera reached the top of the podium after competing in eight races. Although he did not win all of them, he achieved some first places to surpass Argentine Francisco Guaragna and Brazilian Felipe Mallmann.

Silver medal in Taekwondo

Camila Cáceres was the last Peruvian athlete to add a silver medal in this Thursday's session at Asunción 2022. The taekwondo athlete lost to Brazilian Sandy Macedo, but took second place in the Women's 49 kg to -57 kg category. The Peruvian did a great job and in previous rounds defeated Paraguayan Johana Fernández Espínola and Argentine Carla Ayelen Godoy.
