Ricardo Gareca could return to coach in the Argentine league and Independiente has its eyes on the former coach of the Peruvian national team.
Ricardo Gareca would be close to returning to coaching after his long tenure with the Peruvian national team. The 'Tigre' is being considered by one of the main clubs in the Argentine league and it would only be a matter of a few details for the coach to take charge of Independiente de Avellaneda.
"Ricardo Gareca currently has the edge over Gustavo Quinteros to become the coach of Independiente and has become the top candidate. The 'Tigre' is open to coaching in the country, but he has made it clear that he will not sit down to talk while Julio Falcioni is in charge," said Argentine journalist César Luis Merlo.
Gareca coached the Peruvian national team from 2015 to 2022. He managed to qualify the 'Blanquirroja' for a World Cup after 36 years and also led Peru to a Copa America final after more than 40 years.
