Domingo 11 de Septiembre del 2022

The fans of the team led by Marcelo Gallardo have prepared a whole celebration outside the Monumental stadium in the prelude of the Argentine football Superclásico.

Each time there is less time left for a new edition of the Argentine Superclasico, to be played this Sunday at La Bombonera, so the fans of River Plate have prepared a spectacular flag display in the vicinity of the Monumental stadium to bid farewell to their team, which is heading to La Bombonera.

Hundreds of River Plate fans arrived at their stadium with flags, balloons, and smoke torches to show their support for the team led by Marcelo Gallardo. After several minutes of waiting, the fans were finally able to see the bus with all the players leaving.

In this way, the Superclasico monopolizes the attention in the 18th round of the Argentine league, which has Gimnasia y Esgrima and Atlético Tucumán as leaders. After 17 rounds, the tournament is dominated by parity, with 'Lobo' and 'Decano' at the top with 33 points, while Huracán and Godoy Cruz (31) are the closest pursuers.

In a third place, River Plate and Boca Juniors, both with 29 points, seek to shorten the distance and fight as the championship comes to an end.

After a very irregular start to the championship, with several unexpected defeats, both teams seem to have found the path to be contenders in the league. However, they still do not depend on themselves to reach the top, and this Superclasico looms as a test of character for both.

In their La Bombonera home, the 'xeneize' team will try to strengthen themselves and extend the streak of six matches without a loss they have in the championship, with three consecutive victories that have positioned them among the top teams, even when they still haven't completely convinced with their game and have suffered the loss of Colombian Sebastián Villa, one of their key players, who underwent knee surgery.

Meanwhile, River Plate is on an upward trajectory, with four victories and two draws that have put them back in the title race, although Marcelo Gallardo's team seems to display a more polished proposal, despite some injury setbacks.
