As part of the preview in the Argentina superclásico, Boca Juniors coach Hugo Ibarra answered some questions from the sports press about how he sees his team competing for the title of the 2022 Professional League.
The coach was sincere in stating that, no matter what happens against River Plate, he did not consider his club as one of the candidates to be crowned champion at the end of the season, although adding the three points could leave them just one point behind leaders Atlético Tucumán and Gimnasia La Plata, depending on other results.
“First, we have to play the superclásico: it's 90 minutes, then we'll see. We are not candidates”, Ibarra said in a press conference at the Boca Juniors training ground.
