About 1,200 police officers will work on the security operation for the Superclásico match between Boca Juniors and River Plate at La Bombonera for the eighteenth round of the League Tournament, as reported by the Government of the City of Buenos Aires on Wednesday.
The City Police officers will be "distributed in different areas", they will control the public's entrances and exits, and "accompany the teams and authorities to the stadium", detailed the Government of the City of Buenos Aires in a statement.
In addition, around "120 police cadets" will work in the Tribuna Segura program, which controls the documentation of fans to prevent the entry of those who have "some type of legal impediment".
The operation planned by the Football Security Committee of the Government of the City will also involve other areas, such as the Governmental Control Agency, Prevention Agents, and Traffic Agents.
The match will start at 5:00 pm (8:00 pm GMT), the gates of the Boca Juniors stadium will open at 1:00 pm (4:00 pm GMT), and the City Government "recommends" fans to "arrive early to have a smooth access to the stands".
The last Superclásico with spectators played at the Boca Juniors stadium was on October 22, 2019, in the second leg of the semifinals of the 2019 Copa Libertadores which 'xeneize' won 1-0 with a goal from Venezuelan forward Jan Hurtado (but his team was eliminated after losing 2-0).
Since then, they have faced each other three times without an audience at La Bombonera, once at the Estadio Único de La Plata also without spectators in the stands, and twice at the Estadio Monumental, River Plate's stadium, with spectators.
