Shortly before the closing of the transfer window in Argentine football, Boca Juniors has announced that Martín Payero will be their new player for the second half of the year. This was announced through a post on social media.
"Welcome Martín Payero," reads the tweet from the xeneize account. The Argentine player is a midfielder and comes from Middlesbrough in the Championship (second division) of England. He joins Boca Juniors on loan for one year to play in both the Argentine league and the local cup, the only two tournaments that Boca Juniors will participate in after being eliminated from the Copa Libertadores.
It is also worth mentioning that Payero joined the English league after a successful stint at Banfield, and upon arriving at Middlesbrough, he played fifteen matches in the second division, the FA Cup, and the League Cup.

However, the player has not played a match for three months, which is also a concern for some 'xeneize' fans regarding his current physical condition.
