The forward from Córdoba, who had been suffering from synovitis for several weeks, underwent a one-and-a-half-hour arthroscopy in which the fluid causing him pain was drained.

Suárez suffers from this chronic condition, which prevents him from training or playing normally due to three previous surgeries on the same knee. He was treated for patellar tendonitis in 2012, and two anterior cruciate ligament injuries in 2013 and 2014.
