Michael Santos, forward for Talleres de Córdoba, was the star of the match against Atlético Tucumán as he scored all three goals in the team's 3-2 victory. In an interview with "100% Deporte", Santos talked about his adaptation to the team and mentioned that he couldn't take the match ball home.
The match became difficult for Talleres near the end, but they were able to secure the victory. "That's what's important, that we were able to get three points away and now we have to think about what's coming in the Copa Sudamericana and move forward," said the forward.
Santos said that he played 70 minutes because he has a discomfort in his iliac psoas muscle. Although he felt good during the match, coach Alexander Medina decided to protect him for the midweek international competition game, when Talleres will face Deportes Tolima.
He also shared the unique experience he had after scoring the hat-trick. He couldn't take the ball as usual. "The reporters gave me a ball and Atlético Tucumán asked for it because it was theirs. They sent someone to ask for it in the locker room because they didn't have any balls. I already had it deflated and everything. Later, the club will give me another one," Santos recounted.
Regarding Medina and his coaching staff's work, Santos said they are "phenomenal". Since he arrived, they have provided him with the tools to feel comfortable in the club and regain confidence. As for the "Cacique", he said "he's a fantastic coach; the training sessions and matches are very intense, he demands pressing throughout the game, you have to be physically fit," said the Uruguayan forward.
