Boca Juniors discarded the signing of Andrés Román on Thursday due to failing the medical exams. According to the Argentine press, the 22-year-old Colombian right-back has a heart problem.
"Boca Juniors and Millonarios Football Club of Colombia announce that player Andrés Felipe Román did not meet the required medical standards set by Boca's Medical Department, an essential requirement for the completion of the transfer", states the Argentine institution.
Andrés Román, who has been with Millonarios from Colombia since his professional debut in 2017, arrived in Buenos Aires on Thursday morning and underwent the required medical exams. Hours later, it was revealed that he has heart problems.
The Bogota footballer was Boca Juniors' option for the right-back position in Miguel Ángel Russo's team, considering the inconsistency of Leonardo Jara and Julio Buffarini. Now, they will have to search for another player to reinforce the position.
