The adventure of Cecilio Domínguez at Independiente has come to an end, as the club has sold him to Austin FC of the Major League Soccer for four million dollars. Thus, the forward leaves with more sorrows than glory from his spell in Argentina.

The Paraguayan arrived at Rojo from Club América of Mexico for six million dollars at the beginning of 2019, becoming the most expensive signing in the history of the club.
A year and a half after his arrival, the 26-year-old player will head to the United States to continue his sports career in that country. Austin FC will make its debut as a franchise in the MLS in 2021.
The forward played 42 matches with the Independiente shirt, scored eight goals, and was the focus of much criticism due to his very poor performance, as he arrived at the institution to become one of the team's pillars.
Let's remember that the Avellaneda side still owes money to Las Águilas and will have to pay off that debt, which is currently in litigation with FIFA. Independiente owned 75% of the player's rights.
