Gonzalo Montiel has tested negative in the Covid-19 PCR test, so he is now able to resume training. The rest of the tested squad also tested negative in their entirety, as reported by River Plate.
The defender for River Plate had previously tested positive in the serological test, although that test detects antibodies for the disease and not if he currently has it.
What brings more peace of mind to Marcelo Gallardo's team is that the defender has already contracted and overcome the virus without realizing it, so he would be immune.
Montiel was undergoing preventive isolation while awaiting analysis of new samples which confirmed that he is not currently infected.
The 23-year-old defender can now join the practices and avoid a headache for Gallardo, as he will not have to undergo the 14-day quarantine.
Those who have not yet joined are the Colombian Juanfer Quintero and the Paraguayan Robert Rojas, both respecting the quarantine after returning from their respective countries. Matías Suárez, after self-isolating in his neighborhood in Córdoba, will possibly join the training on Wednesday.
