The Chilean full-back showed excitement about returning to South America to continue his career.

After being separated from the Fenerbahce squad, Chilean full-back Mauricio Isla is reportedly looking for new horizons and revealed his desire to play for Boca Juniors and Universidad de Chile before retiring from professional football.

When asked about his future, 'Huaso' declared in a remote conversation with a football school in La Serena that "so far I don't know where I'm going to go. So far I don't know anything."

"I've only had one conversation with Boca Juniors, but so far I don't know anything. I would love to play for the 'U', it's my dream, my mother's dream, and my family's dream. Hopefully, I can play for both: Boca and the 'U'," added the two-time America's champion with the 'Roja'.

On another topic, the native of Buin revealed that "(Marcelo) Bielsa has been the best coach I've had, he's the one who has taught me the most. In second place, I would stay with (Jorge) Sampaoli."

According to the Turkish press, Isla used the coronavirus pandemic as an "excuse" to leave Fenerbahce at a time when he was strongly linked to Boca Juniors. Since he didn't want to join the 'canarios' in Riva, the Fenerbahce management decided to separate him from the team. His contract with the Istanbul team expires on June 30 and everything indicates that he won't continue with them.
