River ensured the continuity of Javier Pinola, who on Wednesday signed his new contract until June 2021.
The defender, about to turn 34 years old, arrived at River Plate in 2017 and became one of the team's references and leaders on the field, as well as one of the alternate captains.
The former Rosario Central player won the Argentine Cup and then lifted the Argentine Super Cup, Copa Libertadores (2018), Recopa (2019), and Argentine Cup (2019) with the River Plate shirt.
At the start of this season, Pinola lost his starting position, but Marcelo Gallardo trusts that he will regain his best level and compete for a spot again.
