Even the Club Deportivo Walter Ormeño was inspired by Walter Ormeño's name. In 1974, the club participated in the First Division for the first and only time. The institution in Cañete dedicated a heartfelt farewell message to him.

Finally, it is worth noting that his grandson, Santiago Ormeño, played for Mexican clubs Puebla, Chivas, Lobos BUAP, among others, and was in Real Garcilaso in 2019.
