Rafinha is the seventh Brazilian to win a Copa Libertadores and a Champions League. The 34-year-old defender joined the select group, along with Neymar and Ronaldinho, after winning the maximum South American club tournament with Flamengo.
Rafinha was part of the starting eleven of 'Mengao' in the Copa Libertadores final against River Plate. The defender played the full 90 minutes, received a strong blow at 40 minutes and a yellow card at 80. The Brazilian won the Champions League with Bayern Munich in 2013, which puts him in the select group.
Flamengo defeated River Plate 2-1 in the Copa Libertadores final played at the Estadio Monumental in Lima. Rafael Santos Borré (14') scored the goal for 'Millonario', while the goals for victory were scored by Gabriel Barbosa 'Gabigol' (89' and 90+2').
'Mengao' also has a great opportunity to win the Brasileirao in the 36th round against Palmeiras. Flamengo has 81 points, 13 more than 'Verdao', who is in second place, and could secure the title two rounds before the end of the tournament.
