Just three minutes into the game between River Plate and Cerro Porteño, a controversial play in the local area reached the VAR. The Peruvian referee, Victor Hugo Carrillo, awarded a penalty in favor of the 'Millonario' team, causing the Paraguayan team to go insane with what they were seeing.

Such was the surprise that the always controversial José Luis Chilavert used his Twitter account to accuse CONMEBOL of corruption and having everything 'arranged' in favor of the current Copa Libertadores champion.
