It didn't go beyond a terrible scare. The alarms went off in the neighborhood of La Boca, specifically in La Bombonera, the stadium of Boca Juniors, after receiving a bomb threat this Thursday around 5 pm (local time), during the training of the 'Xeneize' women's team, which, however, was not evacuated with the employees and members.
According to information from Argentine media, Boca's women's team was at the Pedro Pompilio complex, but the police didn't include that area during the evacuation. After an hour of searching and checking every corner of the 'Xeneize' stadium, the Anti-bomb Squad Department of the Buenos Aires Police ordered the reopening of the venue. In statements broadcasted by the Argentine media 'Infobae', police sources highlighted that "a male voice called 911 saying that there was a bomb".
Fortunately, it was just a scare and, of course, an uncomfortable situation because it is not the first time something like this happens in La Bombonera. Already in December of last year, an identical situation occurred just a few hours before Boca Juniors' departure to Madrid to play the Copa Libertadores final against River Plate.
