Everything seemed to be going well for Boca Juniors, after their new signing Daniele De Rossi made his debut and scored a goal for the 'Xeneize' at the 27th minute of the first half; however, everything changed in the second half when Segunda Almagro managed to equalize and forced the penalty shootout.
Juan Manuel 'el Burrito' Martinez, who played for Boca Juniors from 2012 to 2015, scored the equalizer after a collective mistake from Alonso and Diaz towards the end of the match.
In the penalty shootout, goalkeeper Christian Limousin saved the shots from Mac Allister and Venezuelan Jan Hurtado. In addition, Salvio's shot went over the crossbar.

Almagro will play in the round of 16 against Talleres or Belgrano. In the quarter-finals, their opponent will be River Plate or Godoy Cruz de Mendoza.
Boca Juniors' next match will be this Sunday against Aldosivi in the third round of the Argentine Superliga.
