Although the possibility of Nacho Piatti returning to Independiente has been rumored for a while, his current club, Montreal Impact, has come out to dismiss the departure of the Argentine player in the near future.
Kevin Gilmore, the president of the Canadian club, responded to the rumors on social media: "About the persistent rumors of Piatti's return to Argentina, I want to clarify that Nacho has a contract with Impact and the club will exercise the option for 2020. Since I arrived, my expectation has been to have Nacho until 2020."
Thus, Sebastián Beccacece will not have Piatti, at least, in this transfer market, and a chance for San Lorenzo, the team that Nacho hoped to return to, is also ruled out.
