The return of Guido Pizarro to Tigres is latent, and Miguel Garza, president of the club, acknowledged that they have been in constant contact with the midfielder from Sevilla, after being close to signing him at the beginning of the year.
The Mexican naturalized player already had an agreement in January to return to the team, however, a change of mind by the Andalusian club's management brought negotiations to an end.
"We have been in contact with him for the past six months, with players who could be alternatives for the institution, we are working on that," he said as he left the club's offices.
Garza Martinez acknowledged that the return of Pizarro would be phenomenal, as he is familiar with the club where he played from 2013 to 2017 and won two Liga titles, a Copa MX, and a Campeon de Campeones.
"It would be ideal to bring back players who at some point made the decision to leave the institution, who can now return, it would be phenomenal for us, for the fans, for the team, as he already knows how everything works. It would be a positive complement," he said.
Finally, the Tigres leader spoke about the Draft to be held next week, and commented that the expectations of the teams have decreased after it was announced that there will be no relegation for the next two years.
"I have seen him different, especially after the announcement of no relegation for two years. The expectations of the teams have dropped a bit, there will be more opportunities for the young players, especially in these two years, and that is what I perceive from a distance," he said.
