The 2018 Copa Argentina begins to be felt. The new edition of this tournament will be played throughout this year and will culminate in December. It will grant a spot to the 2019 Copa Libertadores.
WHEN AND WHERE IS THE DRAW
On Thursday, February 22, from 12 noon, at the Futsal stadium of the complex that the Argentine Football Association owns in Ezeiza.
DRAW FORMAT
The organization will establish seeded teams that have not been announced yet. It is estimated that Boca and River will be facing each other in the bracket and can only meet in the final. The same case for Independiente and Racing. What will be defined is the complete bracket of the Round of 32 with the 32 matches of the 64 teams qualified for the final phase.
QUALIFIED TEAMS
Unlike the first editions, not all AFA teams will participate in the final phase. Each category was responsible for qualifying the number of teams allowed by the organization, all with internal regulations defined by the AFA.
Superliga: 28 teams will participate. Boca Juniors, Talleres, San Lorenzo, Godoy Cruz, Unión, Independiente, Huracán, Estudiantes, Belgrano, Atlético Tucumán, Argentinos, Colón, Racing, Defensa y Justicia, San Martín de San Juan, Patronato, Rosario Central, Banfield, River, Gimnasia, Lanús, Vélez, Newell's, Chacarita, Tigre, Temperley, Olimpo, and Arsenal.
National B: Aldosivi, Almagro, Agropecuario Argentino de Carlos Casares, Atlético Rafaela, Atlético Mitre de Santiago del Estero, Brown de Adrogué, Deportivo Morón, Gimnasia de Jujuy, Guillermo Brown de Puerto Madryn, Juventud Unida de Entre Ríos, San Martín de Tucumán, and Villa Dálmine.
Metropolitan B: Estudiantes de Buenos Aires, Platense, Tristián Suárez, and UAI Urquiza. The remaining qualifier will be Talleres or Defensores de Belgrano.
Primera C: Central Córdoba de Rosario, Defensores Unidos de Zárate, Luján, and Midland.
Primera D: Central Ballester, General Lamadrid, and Victoriano Arenas.
Torneo Federal A: Alvarado de Mar del Plata, Central Córdoba de Santiago del Estero, Cipolletti de Río Negro, Douglas Haig de Pergamino, Sarmiento de Resistencia, and Sportivo Belgrano de San Francisco.
Seventh qualifier: Gimnasia de Mendoza or Deportivo Maipú de Mendoza.
Eighth qualifier: Juventud Antoniana de Salta or San Jorge de Tucumán.
Torneo Federal B: The four qualifiers are not yet known.
