This Wednesday at 17:00, the ninth round of the Clausura Tournament began.
Strong violet team wins at home
Defensor Sporting hosted Racing at the Luis Franzini Stadium. The violet team took the lead from the beginning: Gonzalo Carneiro opened the scoring at 4 minutes of play. Shortly after, at 15 minutes, Facundo Castro scored the second goal for the home team. Eduardo Acevedo's team did not waste opportunities, while Sayago's team made mistakes. At 28 minutes, the albiverdes committed a penalty, which Carneiro converted into a 3-0 lead.
In the second half, the violet team continued to demonstrate authority: the young Facundo Milán scored the fourth goal at 50 minutes.
Racing did not give up, and at 63 minutes, they scored a goal to make it 4-1. At 72 minutes, the visitors scored again with a goal from Gastón Alvite.
The violet team kept the favorable 4-2 score to secure three more points.
Defensor's coach, Eduardo Acevedo, said it was a resounding victory where they were far superior.
Bohemia defeated
Cerro visited Wanderers at the Parque Viera. The albiceleste team opened the scoring with a goal from Franco López at 8 minutes. Despite the adverse start, the bohemians equalized before halftime thanks to a goal from Rodrigo Rivero.
In the second half, Wanderers reversed the result at 67 minutes. Shortly after, Cerro equalized with a goal from Maureen Franco, who later scored another goal to bring the albiceleste team a 3-2 victory away from home.
Draw between Danubio and Plaza Colonia
Danubio hosted Plaza Colonia at Jardines del Hipódromo. The patablanca team started strong: Renzo López scored the first goal at 10 minutes, and Carlos Puppo immediately followed with the second goal at 11 minutes, giving Plaza Colonia a 2-0 lead.
However, the franja team did not give up and tried to close the gap. At 21 minutes, David Terans scored a free kick goal to make it 2-1 in favor of Plaza Colonia. At 37 minutes, Ignacio González scored the equalizing goal for Danubio to bring the score to 2-2.
Differences in the score did not appear in the second half, and the teams maintained the draw.
Juventud triumphs in the end
River Plate played against Juventud in Las Piedras. In the first half, they couldn't break the tie. Towards the end, the home team broke the deadlock with a goal from Gonzalo Malán, securing the three points.
