Three fans were injured on Monday at the Roberto Meléndez Metropolitan Stadium when a railing broke and they fell into the ditch that separates the field from the stands, during the official presentation of striker Teófilo Gutiérrez as the new player of Junior, authorities reported.
The incident occurred when Teófilo Gutiérrez approached to greet the fans in the western stands and the railing gave way under the pressure of the fans.
The affected individuals were immediately attended to by members of the Red Cross and later taken to medical centers.

Similarly, police authorities reported disturbances outside the stadium due to a large number of fans who were unable to enter the presentation of the player Teófilo Gutiérrez.
In addition, a group of vandals attacked some of the Transmetro buses, the city's mass public transportation service, with stones, causing injuries to several passengers.
More than 45,000 people filled the stands of the Metropolitan Stadium during the presentation of Teófilo Gutiérrez, who came from Rosario Central in Argentina.

Teófilo Gutiérrez, who is wearing the Tiburón team shirt for the third time, arrives as one of the great hopes of the fans for the team to win its eighth title in the Colombian league. He declared excitedly that being here is like a dream. "I feel like a child and I come here to be a champion," he said.
"I have to thank those who have allowed me to wear this shirt again," the player said to a packed stadium where the chant "scorer, scorer, that's Teo the scorer" was heard in the stands.
Minutes earlier, in a press conference, the Barranquilla forward said, "I know what I came here for and I have faith in my teammates. I came here to be a champion with Junior," he emphasized.
