63’ — TOR! Mads Pedersen handles the ball and referee calls it after review. Harry Kane converts it to give Bayern a well deserved lead.

57’ — Bayern players are pinging from distance at this point, it’s probably the best route for goals.

51’ — Olise finesses it but again, unsuccessful.

48’ — Musiala tries his new header trick but comes away with nothing.

45’ — Second half commences.

Halftime Observations:

• Leon Goretzka looks like he’s doing everything possible to prevent a possible move at some point down the line. His new haircut is also kind of unnerving.
• Bayern once again struggle with five-back low blocks, other teams will continue to follow that blueprint unless Vincent Kompany does something about it.
• Kingsley Coman has been terrible, especially his crosses. Sub him out.
• Jamal Musiala is simply a joy to watch. He’s staying and that’s that.

45+3’ — Goretzka has another go at goal but his effort is pushed up and over. Half-time whistle has also blown.

41’ — Michael Olise draws a freekick, but curls it over the bar.

38’ — Mads Pedersen replaces Dimitrios Giannoulis who seems to have picked up an injury

33’ — Musiala’s close range effort is turned away.

29’ — Jamal Musiala dribbles through three Augsburg players and shoots at goal but Labrović saves it as well.

25’ — Right after that Coman chance, Augsburg race down the other end but Alexis Claude-Maurice’s header is saved by Neuer.

24’ — Kingsley Coman’s shot from outside the area is collected by Augsburg goalkeeper Nediljko Labrović.

12’ — Goretzka has a pop from distance but it goes wide.

Kickoff!: It’s whistles blown and away we go!

Lineups: The starting XI is out! Neuer seems to have recovered from his minor knock in training and dons the gloves in goal, while Leon Goretzka makes his first start in a while. Meanwhile, Sacha Boey returns but is on the bench for now.

After three weeks of club football’s absence, it’s back and Bayern Munich is raring to go against fellow southern club FC Augsburg. It’s been a mixed bag of results for the Bavarian boys on international duty, but it’s time to shift focus towards picking up all three points against a team that has usually given Bayern a run for their money.

The Rekordmeister sits pretty atop the Bundesliga with an 8-2-0 record while Augsburg sit in 13th with 10 points (3-3-4) from a possible 30. Who will claim bragging rights in this Bavarian derby?
