Julian Nagelsmann is one of the brightest young coaches in Europe: he showed it during his time on the RB Leipzig bench, which is why, a few days after being fired by Bayern Munich, the German coach has already begun to be linked with other major clubs in the 'Old Continent'. Specifically, Real Madrid and Tottenham have him on their signing agenda for the 2023-24 season. However, Nagelsmann has other plans for his career and he is not desperate to return to coaching this year.
According to the information presented by Bild this Tuesday, Nagelsmann wants to take some time to reflect on everything that has happened to him at Bayern. In other words, it is ruled out that Nagelsmann will go to Tottenham right now and he will wait until summer to make a final decision about his future.
This measure by the former Bayern Munich coach allows Real Madrid to continue dreaming of his services. And it is that in case Carlo Ancelotti is dismissed or ends up taking over the coaching position of the Brazilian national team, they are ready to go for the services of the German coach.
In 2018, Nagelsmann was already on Real Madrid's radar to replace Zidane, but a change of scenery made him give up. "There is a big difference. At Hoffenheim I knew all the workers and the adaptation time, if you know everyone, is shorter. So you know exactly who to talk to when you need something", he said.
"When you have to get to know all the people who make up the club first, it is a different dimension. It was good to look for a higher step, but not the highest step that would have been possible", added the German coach, who years later is once again in the sight of the Champions League champions.
What titles did Nagelsmann win at Bayern?
Nagelsmann, 35 years old, began coaching the Bavarian team in the summer of 2021 and leaves having won a Bundesliga title and two German Super Cups. Currently, he had the team qualified for the quarterfinals of the Champions League and in second place in the league, just one point behind Borussia Dortmund.
