Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois will miss friendly against Germany
Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who is suffering from "slight groin pain," will miss the friendly against Germany on Tuesday in Cologne, the Belgian federation (RBFA) announced on Sunday.
"As a precautionary measure," Courtois, who had played in the Red Devils' victory (3-0) on Friday against Sweden in the Euro 2024 qualifiers, will rest due to the busy schedule in Real Madrid in the upcoming weeks, according to RBFA.
On Tuesday, he will be replaced by Koen Casteels, who plays for Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga.
Casteels has been promoted to the position of the second goalkeeper in the hierarchy, following Simon Mignolet's retirement from international football. AFP
