Borussia Dortmund forward to undergo surgery for cancer
"I will have to undergo surgery to definitively get rid of this tumor that keeps me away from the pitch," said the Ivorian-French forward from Borussia Dortmund.
Borussia Dortmund forward Sébastien Haller, who was diagnosed with testicular cancer in July, will have to undergo surgery, as announced on social media, which will keep him away from the football field.
"As planned from the beginning, different possibilities were considered after chemotherapy. I announce that the fight is not over. I will have to undergo surgery to definitively get rid of this tumor that keeps me away from the pitch," explained the 28-year-old forward on his Twitter account.
Recruited in early July by Dortmund to compensate for Erling Haaland's departure to Manchester City, Haller felt pain a few days after signing during the pre-season with Borussia in mid-July. Doctors announced that he was suffering from testicular cancer.
"We wish you a lot of strength Seb! Stay strong!" responded the club to Haller's tweet.
