Another Bavarian goal fest: Benjamin Pavard scored the 3-0 in Bayern vs. Barcelona.

Bayern Munich has become Barcelona's black beast. On Wednesday night, the Bavarians once again defeated the culés. The one responsible for sealing the victory at the Spotify Camp Nou was Benjamin Pavard, in the framework of the fifth matchday of Group C of the Champions League.

In the fifth minute of stoppage time in the second half, the Barcelona team had a corner kick in their favor. Joshua Kimmich crossed, Serge Gnabry tried to shoot, and the ball fell to Pavard, who scored with his right foot, first-time, to defeat the resistance of the goalkeeper Ter Stegen.

Before the French defender's goal, the German team went 2-0 up, thanks to the goals from Sadio Mané (10') and Eric Choupo Moting (31'). Barcelona tried to react, but couldn't generate much danger in the Bavarian area.

With Inter Milan's victory over Viktoria Plzen hours earlier, Barcelona had already lost its chance to qualify for the Champions League round of 16. What the team led by Xavi Hernandez did secure was their place in the Europa League by finishing third in their group.

When will Barcelona and Bayern Munich play again?

Barcelona will conclude their participation in the 2022-23 Champions League on Tuesday, November 1, when they visit Viktoria Plzen in the Czech Republic. On the other hand, Bayern Munich and Inter, already qualified for the next stage of the Champions League, will face each other on the same day at the Allianz Arena.
