It will be special to see Bayern Munich for the first time without Lewandowski in the squad. After eight long seasons, the striker decided to end his history with the Bavarians and, although he had one more year on his contract, an agreement was reached with Barcelona, which became his new team.
A few weeks ago, the German team had secured the signing of Sadio Mané from Liverpool. The Senegalese has been joined by Dutchman Ryan Gravenberch, Moroccan Noussair Mazraoui, and recently, Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt.
For their tour, the Bayern Munich delegation arrived just last Monday and did not waste any time. Under the orders of coach Julian Nagelsmann, the team had their first sessions at the Audi Field.
"The humidity makes training a bit harder, but it's good. It's always a good experience to come to the United States. We are very motivated for the days ahead," said forward Serge Gnabry in the pre-match press conference.
They will face DC United, which has English legend Wayne Rooney on the bench and has not been performing well in the MLS, with two defeats and a draw in their last three games.
