Borussia Dortmund informed that their player Sébastien Haller, who recently joined the team this season, has left the preseason due to the detection of a tumor in his testicle. The German team announced this through their social media.
The sports institution reported that the Ivorian forward had discomfort while training and later the results of the medical examination came out. However, the club mentioned that the striker will undergo further studies in the coming days.
Sebastian Kehl, Borussia Dortmund's sporting director, expressed regret over the news. "It was a shock for Sebastien Haller and for all of us. The entire BVB family wishes Sebastien a full recovery as soon as possible and that we can hug him again soon. We will do everything in our power to ensure he receives the best possible treatment", he stated.
Likewise, the German club requested respect for the privacy of the 28-year-old forward. "As soon as we have more information, we will inform you in consultation with the player", it reads.
It is important to mention that Sébastien Haller arrives at Borussia after a great season at Ajax. The footballer played 42 games in which he scored 34 goals and provided 9 assists. Before that, he showcased his football skills at teams like West Ham United (England), Eintracht Frankfurt (Germany), F. C. Utrecht (Netherlands), and A. J. Auxerre (France).
