Eintracht Frankfurt has been more aggressive against Rangers in the Europa League final, but so far there has been no precision. In the beginning of the second half, Rafael Santos Borré led one of the attacks for the 'Eagles', fell inside the area after a cross from Connor Goldson, and asked for a penalty, although VAR finally did not sanction it.
The clock was approaching 52 minutes and the German club had a goal kick, amid the pressure exerted by the rival team. Faced with a lack of space, goalkeeper Kevin Trapp decided to make a long kick, which reached the center circle of the field at the Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium.
The ball was divided and Sebastian Rode, captain of Eintracht Frankfurt, knew how to impose himself, using his head to assist Rafael Santos Borré. The 'Commander' controlled the ball and quickly headed towards the Rangers' area, taking advantage of the fact that the defenders were very far forward.
However, the Colombian gradually lost speed and, faced with Connor Goldson's marking, chose to lean to the right, inside the small box. Immediately, the former River Plate player attempted a feint, almost on the goal line, but ended up falling due to a slight touch. The 'Eagles' squad claimed a penalty.
The Slovenian referee Slavko Vinčić was close to the action and did not award a penalty, a decision that was supported by VAR moments later. For now, the Europa League final remains tied without goals, although Eintracht Frankfurt shows superiority over Rangers.
