New York City became the champion of the MLS with Peruvian presence. Not only because of Alexander Callens, but also because of Alfredo Morales. The midfielder has Peruvian ancestry from his father, a soldier from Chimbote who decided to migrate very young to the United States of North America.
Could he have played for the Peruvian National Team?
In August 2011, Alfredo Morales expressed a desire to be called up to the 'Bicolor' national team. Even Sergio Markarián, at that time the coach, had contact with the player. However, Jurgen Klinsmann, coach of the United States national football team, called up the midfielder for friendly matches against France and Slovenia in November of that same year.
In total, Morales has played 16 matches for the United States national team. This is the reason why he was unable to play for Peru in any continental and/or World Cup tournament.

Alfredo Morales made his debut in the 2008/2009 season with Hertha Berlin II. In the 2010/2011 season, he made his debut with the first-team of Hertha Berlin. During that semester, he played only 3 official matches. In the 2013/2014 season, he moved to F.C. Ingolstadt 04 in the second division of Germany until the 2017/2018 season.
In the 2018/2019 season, he moved to Fortuna Düsseldorf, the team with which he was relegated in the 2019/2020 season. Since 2021, Alfredo Morales has been part of the ranks of New York City. The team with which he won the MLS.
