E3 2023 is in trouble: Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo would not participate in the important event.

The E3, one of the most important video game conventions, was finally planned to return to in-person format this year. However, a new report reveals that three console giants will not participate: Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo.

Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft would be skipping E3 2023, according to new information gathered by the specialized medium IGN. According to the medium, these brands do not plan to be present. As you may recall, E3 2023 was going to return to in-person format in Los Angeles from June 13 to 16, but it seems without its biggest attractions.

The reason? These three companies find it more effective to hold their own video game presentation events. For example, Nintendo manages quite well with their special broadcasts Direct, without having to rely on major conventions to showcase their game updates.

On the other hand, PlayStation has not participated in E3 since 2019 and it is expected that this year will not be an exception. Likewise, Microsoft has revealed that they will hold an event in Los Angeles midway through the year, but they did not specify that it would be a part of E3.

E3 continues to be one of the most relevant conventions in the video game industry. However, after the pandemic, other events have gained presence such as The Game Awards and the Summer Game Fest, both presented by Geoff Keighley.

In fact, the Summer Game Fest has become a major contender for E3 and this year the fair will take place just one week before.
