Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the latest release from the iconic shooting franchise. Once again, we return to modern warfare with an interesting campaign starring characters like Captain Price and Ghost. However, the main attraction is undoubtedly the multiplayer, where we can play with none other than Lionel Messi.
The Argentine star appears as a playable character in both the multiplayer of MW2 and the Battle Royale 'Warzone 2.0'. Messi's arrival is the latest collaboration that Activision has made with renowned international footballers. Before him, figures like Neymar Jr. and Paul Pogba arrived.
They all have their own customized weapons, and it must be noted the great fidelity with which they have managed to portray the players with a level of 'photorealism' that surprises. Their presentation trailer shows us Messi equipped with an assault rifle with blue camouflage and tactical gear to withstand bullets.
How to have Messi in Call of Duty?
If at this point you want to have Messi as a playable character, you have to take certain details into consideration. The 'albiceleste' player can only be obtained -like Neymar and Pogba- using 'Call of Duty Points' (CP), which is the premium currency of the game and can be obtained by purchasing it with real money or if you had collected it from previous installsments of the franchise via the Battle Pass.
Messi's price within Call of Duty is 2400 CP and it will cost you $20. Once you have it, you can use it in both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0. Along with the player, other rewards will be unlocked such as weapon stickers, a vehicle skin, an animated emblem, and an execution move that can be used when sneaking up on an enemy. And the best part is that the 'Pulga' himself has interpreted hilariously funny dialogues since we know Messi doesn't have acting skills.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available on PC and consoles such as PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
