The video game, which was first announced in 2020, appears promoted alongside other games in the trailer released by PS5 this Tuesday, and it can be read: "Final Fantasy XVI for summer 2023. Exclusive to PS5 for six months."
In its presentation, Final Fantasy XVI was described as a video game for PS5 but it was also reported that it would be available for PC. However, it was unknown if it would be released at a different time for PC or simultaneously.
In this sense, the warnings of industry analyst Piers Harding-Rolls are reaffirmed, who already warned at the time of the video game presentation that the PC release would come six months after the PS5 release, with potential for other consoles after a year.

On the other hand, the PlayStation trailer includes another game from Square Enix, Forspoken, which will be released on January 25, 2023 and will also be exclusive to PS5 for a total of two years (until 2025).
Thus, Sony continues with its exclusivity as the situation has been similar with Final Fantasy VII Remake. This release from Square Enix came to PC at the end of last year, while it was initially released on PS4 in April 2020.
