Hellena Taylor, voice actress who brought Bayonetta to life in all previous installments, called on fans to boycott the sale of Bayonetta 3. Now, PlatinumGames responds that they give "all their support" to the current performer of the character, Jennifer Hale.
A big controversy broke out when Hellena Taylor, known for playing Bayonetta in the original games, revealed that she had only been offered $4,000 to reprise the role, a rather low and unfair amount, according to her. PlatinumGames, responsible for the game, has stated that they share the same point of view as Jennifer Hale, actress of Bayonetta 3 who replaced Taylor.

“We fully support Jennifer Hale as the new Bayonetta and agree with everything she says in her statement,” reads the company's statement. As you may recall, Hale expressed her support for actors' rights to have their work respected; however, she asked the public to consider the work of the Bayonetta team and the parties involved in "resolving their differences."
“At PlatinumGames, we offer our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has contributed to creating the Bayonetta series over the years, as well as to the community that has served as its foundation,” the developer also wrote. “We ask people to please refrain from any further comments that disrespect Jennifer or any of the other contributors to the series.”

The controversy over the salary offered to Taylor sparked a debate about fair wages for voice actors, a problem often mentioned in the gaming and animation industry. However, Taylor's statements confused the public when a Bloomberg report indicated that the actress was actually offered $15,000 to dub the game.
Despite this, PlatinumGames has decided not to comment on the figures. Whether Bayonetta 3 turns out to be the bestseller it was supposed to be for Nintendo Switch will be known when the game is released on October 28th.
