A new augmented reality video game is on its way from Marvel and Niantic, the creators of Pokémon GO. It's called Marvel World of Heroes and it will be available on mobile devices in 2023.
On the occasion of Expo D23, the first Disney & Marvel Games Showcase was held, an event that brought various announcements about the main video games of the brands. One of the main surprises was Marvel World of Heroes, a new AR mobile game co-created with Niantic. A preview was presented which, although it does not feature official gameplay footage, shows the concept of the game's dynamics.

In the game, users will be able to create their avatar; Phil Hong, producer at Niantic, commented to IGN that they will try to include as much diversity as possible for character customization. As for your superpowers, he explained that as you progress in the game and level up or explore, your powers will be determined.
Likewise, similar to Pokémon GO, AR comes into play when a battle or discovery appears on the map and you have to go to the place to complete your mission. Marvel World of Heroes is a social game, so there are missions that you will have to complete with (or against) other players.

Another aspect that Hong revealed is that users will be able to join not only the Avengers, but also other groups in the Marvel Universe. You can pre-register today for the game on its official website.
