The executive director of Xbox, Phil Spencer, has acknowledged that he believes the release of exclusive video games for this console will decrease in order to bet on multi-platform titles.

The CEO of Microsoft's gaming division has made these statements in a recent interview published by Bloomberg, where he has talked about the consequences of Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard.

First, Spencer has talked about the investigations that accused the video game studio of promoting discrimination among its female employees. In this regard, he clarified that he believes Activision is committed to addressing these accusations.

Likewise, the executive has assured that one of the developer's most popular titles, Call of Duty, will continue to be available on other platforms for the time being and that exclusive titles are something that will happen "less and less."

"We love being able to attract more players [...] allowing them to find their friends, play with their friends, regardless of the device," he added. He also said that he believes "in the long run, that's good," even though in the short term "there are people in some companies who don't like it."

The executive has commented that he expects to expand the content offered by Xbox, whether by investing in new titles, creating new collaboration agreements, or partnering with other studios.

It is worth remembering that, after making the commercial agreement between Microsoft and the developer public, Sony Group Corporation announced that it expected Activision Blizzard to maintain the multi-platform format of the games published.

The Japanese company then expressed concerns about this acquisition because Xbox, the console manufactured by Microsoft, is considered direct competition to theirs, PlayStation.

Sony pointed out that the acquisition of the creator of titles like Warcraft or Call of Duty could jeopardize the availability of titles for platforms other than Microsoft's.
