In 1992, Atari SA released the first Alone in the Dark, which became an instant classic and the precursor of the survival horror subgenre.

Later, titles like Resident Evil or Silent Hill joined the genre established by Alone in the Dark.
This video game revolves around the main character, Edward Carnby, a private detective in charge of different cases that include investigating haunted houses or a zombie town.
Now, it's official that a remake of the first installment of Alone in the Dark will be released in 2023. This time it is being developed by Pieces Interactive and distributed by THQ Nordic.
The writer of this new installment, who will be responsible for rewriting and adapting the dialogues to contemporary situations, is the same as that of SOMA and Amnesia. Additionally, it will keep the original name, that is, it will remain as "Alone in the Dark".
The consoles on which it will be available are PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
