Mario Strikers: Battle League is the latest installment of the Super Mario franchise and this time the main inspiration is the "king sport". It features a way to play football mixed with the classic characteristics of the previous video games: the 'strike' mode.
Exclusive to Nintendo Switch, this installment pits two teams of five against each other. The video game allows us to use the most beloved characters of the franchise, such as Mario, Peach, Toad or Yoshi, so each one will have different abilities and characteristics. This is further enhanced by customization with accessories, which modify their statistics and appearance.

How can I improve in Mario Strikers: Battle League?
1. Position your characters well and use your accessories better. Each one has strengths and weaknesses, so you must take advantage of this when attacking or defending the goal. If one of your favorite characters is based on strength, they should stay defending and not join the attack. Also, don't try to round out their statistics with accessories; instead, further enhance their strengths so that they fulfill their function better.
2. Don't use items as soon as you get them. The best way to take advantage of them is the same as in Super Mario racing video games, for example. Using them at key moments will optimize your gameplay and also give you advantages during the match. Waiting a bit can give you better results.
3. Keep a character close to the opponent's goal when using a 'Super Strike'. This type of special shot will knock out the goalkeeper for a few seconds if they manage to block the shot. Therefore, just like in football, if you have a player nearby, you can take advantage of the rebound and score a goal. Also, if your goalkeeper is the one disabled after a rival's 'super strike', position a character nearby to clear the ball from the danger zone.

4. Understanding how the goalkeeper works can help you in the attack. Goalkeepers in Mario Strikers: Battle League tend to stray too far from their goal line. Using the left analog stick backwards to elevate the shot will give you a great chance for it to go over the goalkeeper and into the goal. Also, releasing the A button just when the player's possession turns blue will generate a "perfect" strike, increasing the probability of a goal.
5. Dodging well is essential. Many times we forget about this function. Opponents can charge towards you and you will be able to see that they will do so by the glowing arrows, so you must take this into account. Furthermore, if you manage to dodge at the last moment, you will get a "perfect evasion" and be rewarded with a speed boost to create better playing spaces.
