PlayStation VR 2: Sony prepares the debut of its virtual reality headset with over 20 games [VIDEO]

Sony has announced that the launch of its new virtual reality headset, PlayStation VR 2 (PSVR2), will come with a catalog of over 20 major video game titles, both first-party and third-party.

The Japanese company has presented its product plans at this year's PlayStation Business Meetings, taking the opportunity to provide new details about one of its major bets for the current generation.

In the section dedicated to their new virtual reality headset, there are new features about the device that will succeed the PS VR, such as the release of this device along with more than 20 video games.

These titles will be developed by both Sony's own studios and third parties, although it has not revealed which ones.

Only Horizon: Call of the Mountain is known to be part of this portfolio, the virtual reality title that the company itself announced last January and will be a spin-off of the franchise.

Among the titles available at the launch of the PSVR 2 is the virtual reality adaptation of Among Us, developed by Schell Games, which will also be available on Meta Quest and SteamVR.

Along with the announcement of the 20+ titles that will be released with the device, the tech manufacturer has reminded that this VR headset will come with new ergonomic controllers with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

Furthermore, it has emphasized that to use this device, which will be released with improved resolution and performance, only a single cable will be necessary to simplify the setup and improve ease of use.

It is worth noting that Sony has also announced in this informative session that it plans to carry out large-scale releases beyond consoles in the short term.

These plans for the fiscal year 2022 and 2025, which have been compared to the results obtained in 2019, show growth in PC and mobile games in 2022, while for 2025, they plan to allocate 50% of their portfolio to the PS5 console, around 30% to PC, and the remaining 20% to smartphones.
