The studio responsible for acclaimed adaptations of beloved classic video games has ceased to exist. Vicarious Visions, the developer behind titles such as Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, Skylanders, and Diablo II: Resurrected, has been absorbed by Blizzard Entertainment, disappearing but continuing their work in a different way.

Through its official Twitter account, the now defunct Vicarious Visions confirmed that the merger with Blizzard has been completed, so now it will lose its name and independence. However, it will continue to develop new projects at its Albany, New York offices under the umbrella of the American giant.
“We have officially merged with Blizzard Entertainment. Our development team will remain in Albany and is fully dedicated to Blizzard games”, reads their Twitter post, where they also urge their fans to follow Blizzard Entertainment's official accounts on social networks.

Vicarious Visions will become an internal studio of Blizzard Entertainment, so the upcoming games the studio will work on will be from recognized franchises of this company such as Warcraft, Starcraft, Diablo, among others.
Despite the great success of the studio's recent games such as the remake of the original Crash Bandicoot trilogy, the remakes of the first Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, and the remake of Diablo 2, the sad fate of the studio was inevitable.
