Emanuelle Silva was responsible for giving another joy to Team Chile in Toronto. The national skater achieved another medal by winning the 200 meter time trial event.
The athlete won the gold medal with a time of 16.138", ahead of Colombian Pedro Causil and Mexican Jorge Martinez, who won silver and bronze respectively.
"This is the most important thing for me and for Chile at the Pan-American level, but I want to reach what I did in 2011, where I was champion in the 200 meters, but now at the adult level," he said after the competition.
Now, Silva will compete in the 500 meter event, hoping to repeat what he did on Sunday. "Four months ago I thought I wouldn't be here because of a pubalgia, but here I am. I raise a gold medal for Chile, and hopefully it will be two," he warned.
With this, Chile adds its third medal in Canadian territory, the second gold after the one obtained by Barbara Riveros in triathlon, and bronze by María José Moya.
