Jackie Nava Wins by Unanimous Decision in Boxing Return
After two years away from boxing, former champion and now federal deputy, Jackie Nava, secured a victory by unanimous decision on Saturday night in Cuautitlán Izcalli.
In a 10-round bout, La Princesa Azteca was able to showcase her skills against Venezuelan Ana María Lozano, but the knockout never came. The South American showed great strength and endured the punches, even though she was on wobbly legs at times.
Nava Mouett had a slow start, being inaccurate with her punches, but in the second third of the fight, she found the right distance to display her boxing skills and dominate Lozano, who suffered her sixth defeat in the professional arena.
Jackie had mentioned before the fight that her future and a possible quest for a world title would depend on the result.
With this victory, the Baja Californian - who was the first ever WBC world champion - improved her record to 33-4-3 with 14 knockouts.
