Alexa Grasso passed the first test for the Mexican, who will be facing Felice Herrig this Saturday in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night in Houston at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
The Jalisco native had to use the hoop to make the 116-pound strawweight limit, as happened in Mexico City last November, but she looked in good shape after cutting weight to face the veteran originally from Chicago.
In contrast, Australian fighter Bec Rawlings nearly fainted on the scale at the host hotel and weighed in at 117.5 pounds, so she will have to give up 20 percent of her purse to her opponent, Tecia Torres.
It was a modest ceremony, as the public presentation was cancelled due to the movement generated in the city center by the Super Bowl, but Grasso had the support of her corner, composed of Francisco and Luis Grasso, Tito Castro and gym mates such as Irene Aldana, Karina Rodríguez and Hugo 'Hooligan' Flores.

Grasso, 23, maintains a professional record of 9-0 and is facing only her second opponent in the UFC. After a solid victory over Heather Jo Clark last November 5, she will face a complete fighter, who comes off a win and tried to intimidate her, without success in the face-off. "She is a good purple belt, she has a background in Muay Thai, but I'm ready, I also trained a lot," she said.
Rawlings was the only one to fail on the scale, and the main event of the night between Dennis Bermudez and the "Korean Zombie" Chan Sun Jung could determine the future of several fighters in the featherweight division, including "Pantera" Rodríguez, who is waiting for a fight in May.
